As EMS providers, caring for elderly patients requires special attention and understanding. As the population is aging and more people are living longer lives, some of the unique concerns of the elderly is a major concern.
The elderly have exclusive issues with aging bodily systems along with possible several underling medical problems that can greatly affect their overall care and treatment.
In the elderly you cannot stop with their Chief Complaint, you must dig deeper to totally understand what is happening with your patient. We all are getting older; it would be nice if everyone was empathic to elderly needs.
