Kevin Ramdayal

Kevin Ramdayal was born and raised in Queens NYC in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Kevin was instilled with hard work and dedication throughout his early life and was drawn to helping others through emergency response. Starting his career in EMS in 2005 he worked his way through the ranks of Paramedic, Lieutenant, Captain to now presently a Deputy Chief in the New York City Fire Department. Kevin has extensive field and training experience, working in all five boroughs in NYC including the prestigious EMS Academy. He has experience as a primary patient care provider and a manager of large-scale mass casualty incidents. Kevin would often take the lead throughout his career to coordinate multiple training programs. These areas have included the Incident Command System, Medical Simulation, Counterterrorism Response and many more. He has trained with various national agencies such as FEMA, the FBI, The Center for Domestic Preparedness & The Department of Homeland Security. Kevin is a graduate of the Combating Terrorism Program at West Point and the Fire Officers Management Institute at Columbia University. He has been deployed nationally for his medical expertise during active wildland fires and other disasters through the FDNY Incident Management Team. He has had the opportunity to speak and share his experiences at various international, national, and local conferences on topics affecting EMS and emergency response. He has been awarded numerous accolades including the “Best of Show” presentation at the national homeland security conference. He has over a decade of experience in highly competitive EMS Skills competitions, winning the national EMS competition for JEMS in 2013 and 2015 and the International Simulation competition in Berlin in 2022. He still maintains an active Paramedic certification and frequently teaches as a lead instructor for the EMT and Paramedic Basic programs in the NYC area.
