Zachary Matuzsan, DO, began his EMS career in 2007 as a volunteer emergency medicine technician with the East Windsor Rescue Squad in New Jersey. He continued his involvement in EMS at Johns Hopkins University and graduated with a degree in public health studies in 2012.
Dr. Matuzsan subsequently attended medical school at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in May 2016. He completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at Lehigh Valley Health Network in June 2020, where he was active as a pre-hospital physician, before finishing an EMS fellowship at Cooper University Hospital in June 2021.
Dr. Matuzsan returned to Lehigh Valley Health Network after the fellowship and has been a core faculty member for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program where he provides EMS education for medical students and residents.
In July 2022, he created the EMS student rotation for third- and fourth-year medical students and serves as the clerkship director. He continues involvement with EMS as an associate medical director for LVHN’s aeromedical MedEvac program and is medical director for Northampton Regional EMS, Easton EMS and Muhlenberg College EMS.
Additionally, he is involved in the Eastern PA EMS Council and sits on its board of directors, in addition to being involved with other regional quality assurance programs. He is board-certified in Emergency Medicine and EMS/Pre-Hospital Medicine.
